The Docks

The moonlight shimmers on the dark water, the deserted pier calls you out to its edge... shadows shift, every movement drawing your attention in different directions. Your gaze pierces the darkness, taking in the weathered exteriors of old warehouses, cargo crates, some long abandoned, some containing... who knows what? Docked ships line the piers, some industrial, some pleasure boats, all eerily silhouetted in the pale moonlight. The blood seems to rush through your veins in rhythm to the sound of water lapping against the ancient posts.  You steel yourself, alert, and move forward, footsteps silent on worn planking and cobbled stones.

Rules by which to Live or Die

  1. This is a KILL ZONE. Any killing other than a blood hunt ‘could’ result in retaliation from the Prince or other Clan Elders. Consider yourself warned and watch your own back if you have played out a kill.  Only the Prince, or Seneschal in the Prince’s absence may call a Blood Hunt. Vampire/Mortal killing is at the mortal’s own risk. Killings should be role played appropriate to the setting of dark and seemingly deserted Docks.
  2. Note: ALL kills and related roleplaying actions will be reviewed and receive a final ruling within a reasonable time frame (typically 24 hours).

  3. God Moding is strictly prohibited in ANY of the gaming rooms. If you do not know what God Moding is, please consult the Glossary, ask a Monitor, or one of your fellow players.
  4. All game interactions will be Post-for-Post in ANY of the gaming rooms. Again, please consult the Glossary for clarification on what this means.
  5. Private messages require the permission of the person you wish to PM.
  6. Any play done in private message will not be acknowledged as part of a scene or storyline (SL).
  7. Once a character is killed that handle can no longer be used ANYWHERE in the Castle. So think more than twice about using a handle in the Game Rooms that you have used regularly and are known by in the Castle.
  8. If killed you may return to the game as a new character with a new handle, but you will start from the beginning. (Meaning, you will start as a newbie. There will be NO “instant” all powerful high level Vampire. This status must be earned In Character (IC) through experience and game play).
  9. If you leave during a fight it will be assumed that you have surrendered and your opponent has won. They may kill your character and assume all properties owned by your character. The only way to avoid this is to make arrangements in the event that you must leave. Who knows, perhaps your opponent will let you live to fight another day.
  10. There are NO SAFE HAVENS IN A KILL ZONE. If, for example you try to “escape” your opponent by simply posting a retreat to a “boat at the Docks”, or a “secure house in the Woods”, it will be ruled that you have surrendered the fight, and your opponent wins, leaving it up to them (pending official ruling of approval) to either kill you and assume possession of your properties, or allow you to live and return to the game. The only means of “escape” is to play out in post-for-post IC how you are leaving the area altogether, not just to another place within the kill-zone area.
  11. Rules #8 and #9 apply once the characters are engaged in post-for-post interaction.

  12. Any kill, including a Blood Hunt kill, is not final until the Crypt Monitors make the final ruling.
  13. Please keep OOC (Out of Character) chit chat to a minimum in ANY of the Gaming Rooms! One or two initial OOC posts will be allowed for certain situations, but further ongoing OOC chat should be private, or taken outside of the Gaming Rooms.
  14. Be sure to check the General Gaming Room Rules for further guidelines.
